 The Westfield Fire Department’s Fire Operations Staff is responsible for carrying out the Department’s mission of protecting life, property, and the community through effective fire suppression, emergency response, and related services. Captains provide frontline leadership by supervising personnel, coordinating emergency operations, and ensuring their crews are prepared to respond safely and effectively. Pipemen support and carry out fireground operations, including fire suppression, hose line deployment, apparatus operations, search and rescue, and other essential emergency response functions. Volunteers provide valuable support to Department operations, responding to emergencies, assisting with fireground activities, and contributing their time and skills to help maintain community readiness. Collectively, the Fire Operations Staff works together to promote safety, teamwork, accountability, and operational readiness while providing professional and dependable emergency services to the community.
